Komatsu Ltd. achieved the top ranking in the Nikkei Corporate Excellence Ranking for fiscal 2006, outscoring Canon Inc. and Toyota Motor Corp. among other major Japanese companies. The milestone marked the first time that the global manufacturer with a 300-employee operation in Chattanooga achieved the top ranking.
